How to Decorate Boxes for Valentine Suckers

Make a decorative box for your Valentine suckers.

Valentine's Day is a time to celebrate love and affection. While some people may choose to distribute cards, some offer candy, such as suckers, to give to people in honor of the holiday. Whether you're a teacher who wants to give the suckers to students or someone who wants a convenient way to share candy with office mates, decorate a box where you can keep them for distribution.

Things You'll Need

• Paint
• Markers
• Crayon
• Glue
• Scissors
• Construction paper
• Tissue paper
• Stickers

Instructions

1. Cover the outside of the box in the color of your choice. Paint it, color it with a marker or crayon, or cover it with glued-on construction paper.

2. Cut with a pair of scissors pieces of construction paper in Valentine's Day shapes like hearts, "X's" and "O's," or Cupid's outline. Use colors like red, pink, white and purple. Glue the pieces to the box in the pattern of your choice.

3. Make wads of colored tissue paper and attach them with glue to the box for a three-dimensional effect.

4. Add paper arms and legs to the box and make a face using hearts for the eyes and nose to create a container character.

5. Cover the box with Valentine's Day stickers for a quick and easy method for decorating the sucker box.

6. Look at the shapes and colors of the lollypops and draw similar shapes and colors on the outside of the box to create a theme.

Tips & Warnings

• Use a small box that is shorter than the lollypops' height but tall enough to hold them upright.
