How to Make Burnt Edges in PSP
JASC Paint Shop Pro is an advanced image-editing program with filters, effects and blending tools. Designers use PSP to enhance page layouts and images and multiple effects can be added to the same photo using some of software's tools and options. Burnt edges for images create a grungy or ancient look, and the airbrush tool helps you achieve this classic effect.

1
Open an image in Paint Shop Pro. Set white as your background color. Click "Image," then "Canvas Size." Set the canvas size to 10 pixels larger by width and height to give you more room to work.
-
2
Click on the "Magic Wand" tool in the toolbox on your left. Hover and click around the white surrounding the image. Your dotted selection needs to have a choppy, uneven border.
-
-
3
Click "Selections," then "Invert." A dotted border forms around your image and outlines the uneven edges.
-
4
Click on the "Airbrush" tool and select black as your foreground color. Set the opacity to 50 in the tool's options bar at the top. Click and drag the brush around the edges of the image to darken. Set the opacity to lighter or darker to shade in corners or lighten up edges to make the border appear burnt.

Press "Ctrl" and "S" to save your burnt image.
