Staff Infection Causes

  1. What is Staff Infection

    • Staff infection, or staph infection, is an infection brought on by the bacteria strain staphylococcus. The infection can run a scale from a simple puss-filled boil on the skin all the way to a flesh-eating outbreak. Staff infections differ in depth of infection within the layers of skin and the speed in which they spread as well, as how they respond to antibiotics and medication.

Staff infections symptoms include swelling, tenderness in the skin and a reddish color at the area of infection.

    Causes of Staff Infection

    • Staphylococcus is actually present in approximately one-fourth of the population. The bacteria can be found in the moist soft tissues of the nose, genitals, anus and mouth of individuals. For people who do not have the bacteria within them already, the feet and hands of most also can pick up the bacteria from flooring and the surface of most items.

    Treatment of Staph Infection

    • Staph infection is treated by draining any excess fluid from the infected area's abscesses. Medicated ointments can be applied to the area as well. Doctors treat the infection from within the body with antibiotics such as Penicilli, Vancomycin and Levaquin.
