Apple cider vinegar has been gaining traction as an effective natural remedy for various health afflictions and issues. From eliminating head lice to treating digestion issues to removing harmful toxins from the body to lowering cholesterol, blood pressure and glucose levels, apple cider vinegar is used on countless different health ailments. Fever blisters are one issue that many people believe can be helped with the use of apple cider vinegar.

Function

Apple cider vinegar is generally used as a topical medication that can prevent fever blisters from occurring in the first place. However, it is also used to get rid of existing fever blisters. The way to use apple cider vinegar to treat fever blisters is by dabbing a few drops onto a cotton ball and then gently and thoroughly applying it on your fever blister. You can also blend the apple cider vinegar with lemon juice to maximize its healing potential. Another option is to add a tablespoon of it to your facial moisturizer or toner. It also helps reduce the appearance of blackheads on the skin.

Prevention

Mix 1 to 2 tbsp. of apple cider vinegar with a glass of water and drink it daily around the time when the seasons change. Doing so detoxifies your body and helps increase its mineral content. Along with preventing fever blisters, it can reduce your chances of having skin conditions, losing your hair and developing dental problems.
