Repairing an RCA High Definition TV
-
Settings
-
When experiencing problems with your RCA high-definition television, the first thing you should always check is your settings. If your picture looks a little too sharp or flat, or the colors don't look the way you think they should, you can "repair" this problem easily by adjusting your settings. Simply use the "Menu" button on your remote control to access your television's menu, then adjust the "Picture," "Color," "Contrast," "Tint" and "Sharpness" settings until the picture meets your satisfaction.
Sound Difficulties
-
A common misconception with RCA high-definition televisions is that if one of your sound outputs on the back of your television isn't working, it's broken and must be replaced. This is not necessarily the case. If you are attempting to use the digital audio output jack on the back of your television but already have something plugged into one of the HDMI output jacks, the television will automatically disable the digital audio output. This is unfortunately not something you can repair and is just the way the television operates. You will either have to not use the digital audio output jack or find another way to hook that device into the back of your television.

Replacement Parts
-
If the convergence chips are damaged on your RCA high-definition television, you can order the parts and replace them yourself. Television repair kits containing all the parts and tools required to do the job are available at any television repair shop or over the Internet. It is not recommended, however, that you attempt to physically repair something like your convergence chips yourself unless you are comfortable working around the inside of your television. Something could go seriously wrong and you could damage your television further, possibly beyond repair. Consult a certified television repairman and have him do the job for you.
