    Alternative to Conventional Traps

  1. Keeping your home rodent free can be messy. Snap traps catch and kill mice effectively, but it can be unsettling to look at the dead mouse squashed by the snap. A lot of people don't like handling dead mice either. One way to get rid of mice safely and without having to handle them is to use hooded mouse traps.
  2. Benefits

  3. A hooded mouse trap is a variation on a snap trap, but it is covered. With this type of trap, you don't have to come in contact with the mouse, you won't risk catching your fingers while you set the trap, you won't accidentally step on the trap, and the mouse can't come at the trap sideways.
  4. Setting the Trap

  5. Lift the cover and add the bait (peanut butter or cheese), close the cover and pull back a lever to set the trap. The mouse enters the hole in the cover seeking the bait and triggers the trap. You know that the trap has been sprung by the position of the lever you used to set the trap: If it's up, the trap has been sprung.
  6. Releasing the Mouse

  7. To dispose of the mouse, lift the cover and pull down on the lever until the mouse is released.
