Living Room

The living room is a place where friends and family congregate and relax. The living room is one of the main rooms of expression in a home. Here, one will often find photos and mementos of family and friends or other items that are important to the homeowner. Color is incorporated into the design and theme of the room by means of paint, wallpaper, paneling and wainscoting. Furniture is for both function and decoration. Leather, fabric and wood are common in living room furniture choices. Televisions and stereos are often a mandatory part of the interior of a home, so many homeowners camouflage electronics in entertainment centers or concealing them behind large decorative home accents so that they don't distract from the decorative theme of the room. Living rooms can be accented with florals, prints, shelves and sconces.
