    • In this millennium, there is simply no need to grow old gracefully. Sure, not all of us can afford expensive, department-store products that promise the moon but charge us the equivalent of a round-trip ticket there. Fortunately, with a little ingenuity, anyone can create simple, home-prepared products that work as well as anything marketed by trendy cosmetics corporations, and at a fraction of the cost. In her eternal wisdom, Mother Nature has already provided us with the some of the best components for preserving our health and beauty on both the outside and inside of our bodies. Many ingredients can be purchased at your nearest grocery or health-food store that you can use in making homemade anti-wrinkle creams.

    Avacado Cream

    • Sterilize your tools by running your bowls and mixing spoons through a cycle in your dishwasher. If you don't have a dishwasher, simply soak them in a mixture of 1 tbsp. of chlorine bleach and 1 gallon of water for 10 minutes. Rinse them thoroughly. Your first recipe is a relatively simple anti-wrinkle balm made from an avocado and the oil of an almond. Choose an avocado that is very ripe. It will be slightly mushy when you squeeze it and much easier to work with. Remove the skin of the avocado, as well as the pit. Cut it into thirds and place one third into the bowl. (You can eat the rest of the avocado. They are quite delicious.) Use the back of a teaspoon to blend the avocado in your bowl into a paste. Next use an eyedropper to add 4 to 6 drops of oil of almond to your mixture. Blend thoroughly. To use your cream, clean and dry your face first with soap and water. Apply your cream around your eyes and mouth. Leave it on for a few minutes and then rinse with cool water.

    Cucumber Cream

    • Another remedy for aging skin can be made with a cucumber. Start by washing the cucumber and cutting it up into pieces. Place half of the pieces in a blender. Add two heaping spoonfuls of mayonnaise and about ½ cup of extra-virgin olive oil. Finally, remove the yolk from one egg and add the leftover white to your recipe. Mix your ingredients on a medium setting until they are liquefied. Apply a generous amount to your face and use the tips of your fingers to massage it into your skin. Use a wet washcloth to help with removal. When you are finished, lie down and rest, with the remainder of the cucumber over your eyes. This will help to reduce puffiness and dark circles.
