     In the Shooting Menu on the Cannon G9, locate the camera icon, then the category called "Digital Zoom." Choose "Standard" for normal zoom function.

    2. Zoom Lever

  2. Locate the zoom lever on your camera; it should be at the top of the camera body. Move the lever towards the icon that looks like a lone pine tree in a square. This will zoom in. To zoom out, move the lever towards the icon that has three pine trees in a square.

    3. Capturing Image

  3. You will notice on the LCD monitor that there's a line bar that moves either towards the lone pine tree or the three trees. This indicates how much you are zooming in or out. Once you have zoomed in or out of the image that you like, shoot the image.
