    The Headset

  1. Before you set up your Bluetooth Headset to work with your cell phone or any other device that supports it (examples being both the PlayStation 3 and the XBox 360 game consoles), it is important that you charge the headset completely. Having the headset turn off in the middle of setup will not do any permanent damage, but it will force you to restart the process. When this is done, the headset, as well as the device you are attempting to use it with, both need to be powered up.
  2. Pairing/Sync Mode

  3. To begin the setup process, the device you will be using your headset with must be put in "Pairing" mode. This is the mode that tells it to search for compatible Bluetooth headsets. All cell phones and other devices are different, but the option for this is almost always found under some kind of "Connections" or similarly titled sub menu of the device's options menu. At this time, the Bluetooth headset must also be put in pairing mode. Depending on your model of headset, it may be referred to as "Sync" mode in your user's manual.
  4. Scanning

  5. Once the Bluetooth headset and the device are in pairing mode at the same time, the device will begin to scan the area for everything that supports a Bluetooth signal. This scan usually takes about 60 seconds. At the end of the scan, the device will display a list of everything in the area that supports Bluetooth and is in "pairing" mode-the only device on the list should be your Bluetooth headset. Highlight the headset on the list and select "OK." You are now ready to use your Bluetooth headset wherever you go.
