    Relaxation

  1. Bipolar disorder is a very serious condition that takes your mood from happy and euphoric to stressed and feeling worthless in a matter of minutes. That is why one of the treatment options for bipolar is stress relieving activities. Some of these would include yoga, meditation, Tai-chi and deep breathing exercises.
  2. Support Team

  3. When you have bipolar disorder, there are a lot of times where you feel restless, unworthy and depressed. When these episodes take place, it is very hard to deal with them alone. That is where a good support system comes into play. They are usually friends, family members or even support groups that people turn to when they are in need of help.
  4. Lifestyle

  5. Another major contributor to treating bipolar disorder is making smart lifestyle choices. This includes a combination of healthy eating habits, getting enough sleep and also factoring exercise into your daily routine. This can all lead to mood support.
  6. Medication

  7. Perhaps the most common way to treat bipolar is with medication that is prescribed by your doctor. Being that bipolar causes fluctuations in mood, medication is used to stabilize mood swings and eliminate the peaks and valleys that your emotions go through.
  8. Therapy

  9. There are a lot of tough variables to deal with when you have bipolar disorder. A way to sort all of these out is by seeing a therapist. They teach you coping strategies to deal with areas of your life that commonly get affected. Some of these areas are troubled relationships, mood fluctuations, stressful situations and feelings of uneasiness.
