    Fun With Bubbles

  1. Bubbles that are used for play are a fun outdoor activity for children and adults alike. These types of bubbles are non-toxic and sold in plastic containers that can be found in most toy stores. Bubbles come in many different forms such as fruit-scented bubbles, and bubble wands come in different sizes and shapes to create large or small bubbles. Blowing bubbles is a favorite warm-weather activity, and new accessories and types of bubbles appear every year.
  2. How Bubbles Form

  3. Bubbles are really a pocket of air covered by a thin membrane of soapy water. Because of the slippery texture of the water, it easily glides around the trapped air creating a bubble. When air is blown through a wand full of soapy water, the air is captured inside the water membrane and it floats through the air. Eventually, the soapy membrane loses its elasticity and breaks, causing the bubble to pop.
  4. Uses for Bubbles

  5. Bubbles have a variety of uses besides outdoor playtime. Many couples have their wedding guests blow bubbles as they leave their wedding ceremony instead of throwing rice or flowers. Bubble machines can be used at parties to create a fun atmosphere, and teachers may have students make their own bubbles in a science class. Speech therapists have children blow bubbles through a wand as an effective therapy for children to develop their facial muscles.
