Troubleshooting a Toshiba HDTV
-
Why don't the sound and image match up?
-
The video and audio can fall out of sync for a number of reasons. In most cases, it is a result of the television station's feed. The network broadcast is incorrect and the audio and video signals are not being sent out at the same time.
It is also possible that the Toshiba HD television is not processing the signal quickly enough. To ensure the fastest possible delivery of the signal, be sure the video is provided by either the HDMI or component audio/video ports. If the issue still exists, Toshiba recommends contacting customer support as there may be an issue with the processor.
Why is the image black and white?
-
This occurs when using component audio and video cables on the Toshiba HDTV. Be sure the component video cables are plugged into the correct ports. Both the component video and S-video ports are color coded yellow. If the component plug is inserted into the S-Video port, the Toshiba HDTV will display a black and white image.

The Toshiba's built-in DVR will not record some shows
-
Toshiba has noted that some models of its HDTVs--the MW20H63, the MW24H63, the MW26H82, the MW27H62 and the MW27H63)--mistakenly attach copy protection to over-the-air content. Toshiba is able to provide a firmware update to the TV's owner that can resolve the issue. Owners are encouraged to call 1-800-631-3811 for the update.
