How Does a PartyLite Independent Consultant Spend a Workday?
-
Scheduling and Attending Parties
-
The main job of a PartyLite independent consultant is to schedule parties where she can sell her products. This is how she spends most of her workday--attending and taking care of business from PartyLite parties. Someone usually hosts a party for the consultant at her home, church, business or community center. These hosts often find other hosts at their parties, so scheduling parties is very easy for the PartyLite consultant. When she goes to the parties, she will bring current catalogs, samples of PartyLite products, pens, order forms and anything else to make the job of selling the PartyLite products easier. Many PartyLite consultants plan a game or two for their parties with small products as prizes. Other consultants show new and favorite products while guests eat and drink refreshments provided by the party hosts. When the PartyLite program is over, the guests will order products. The consultant's job is to help with order forms, process orders and encourage people to host parties of their own. The PartyLite consultant needs to know any specials or sales the company is currently offering before she attends a party.
Working With a Team
-
PartyLite independent consultants spend their workdays taking care of their business--which they own. They are working for themselves with PartyLite's help. The PartyLite company has a good support system to help PartyLite consultants have success. If the consultant is new, she would spend a majority of her day in on-going training. She might speak with her personal sponsor about how to make more sales or schedule more parties. PartyLite consultants with more experience may attend a meeting of their PartyLite support team or work on their website. They also may take orders that come in from previous customers and answer email questions and phone calls about products.

Attending Craft Fairs, School Festivals and Other Events
-
PartyLite independent consultants will often reserve a booth at craft fairs or school festivals. Some PartyLite consultants have been known to reserve a spot at a busy winery during Octoberfest weekends. A consultant wants to get as many new customers as possible and make connections. This can happen at events where a lot of people attend and look for home ambiance products. So part of a PartyLite consultant's job is to look for opportunities to sell products, meet new customers, and perhaps recruit new consultants. When attending these events, a consultant would have a few sample products for sale as well as current catalogs and order forms for more sales.
