For Windows, in order to remove an application entirely, you will need to open the Control Panel. In Vista, this Control Panel can be accessed directly from the Start Menu. For Windows 2000 and XP in Classic view, you go to the Start menu, then to "Settings" to find the Control Panel.
On the Control Panel, you will see an option that is either "Programs and Features," or "Uninstall a Program" or "Add/Remove Programs." Double-click on the icon to open the program control window. From the list of programs, choose Adobe Reader and then click "Uninstall" or "Remove."

On a computer that runs a unix-based system, such as Linux, the best way to uninstall Adobe Reader is to use the "Add/Remove Programs" option, which usually appears on the Application menu. To find the option, click on the Applications menu and scroll down until you see "Add/Remove Programs," then click on that option. This will open a window with a list of programs. Scroll through until you see Adobe Reader, click on it and then choose the "Uninstall" or "Remove" option. The computer does the rest. You may have to restart to see all the changes take effect.
