How Does a Pregnant Woman Find Clothes That Fit?
-
Maternity Clothes
-
As a woman's pregnancy progresses, her body changes shape to the point that she must wear maternity clothes. Maternity clothes include pants with a large piece of elastic in the front to fit an expanding belly, shirts that are extremely wide on the bottom, and dresses that are sewn to fit over a large, pregnant belly. There are stores that specialize in maternity clothes, but they are few and can be hard to find. If you don't have store nearby that sells maternity clothes, there are online shops including A Pea in the Pod and Motherhood Maternity (see links below.) A pregnant woman will easily find clothes that fit in a maternity clothing shop. If she wears a size 10, then she will wear a size 10 in maternity clothes.
Consignment
-
Many stores are set up to re-sell baby and maternity items. The owners pay a small fee to people bringing in "donations," and then re-sell the items to new and expecting mothers. These stores are a wonderful and inexpensive way for a pregnant woman to find affordable maternity clothes that are in great condition. She can also find affordable baby clothes and baby items in great condition in these same stores. Many stay-at-home moms re-sell their maternity clothing on eBay, and shopping on eBay is another good way that a pregnant woman can find clothes that fit.

Plus Sizes
-
In the earlier months of pregnancy, a pregnant woman can find shirts, skirts and dresses that fit by shopping for Plus styles and sizes. By choosing loose styles--such as dresses without a belt and a generous amount of fabric--she will find that clothing that fits her nicely.
