    RV Battery Capabilities

  1. RV or marine batteries differ from regular car batteries, in that they are very heavy and built to be drained up to 20 percent and recharged repeatedly during daily usage. RV batteries are capable of running a number of small appliances in the recreational vehicle when it's in camping mode such as the microwave, AC/DC television, water pump and 12v lighting. An RV battery will be recharged automatically when the RV is driven. Solar panels may be installed on the roof of the recreational vehicle in order to recharge the battery automatically via the sun's energy without needing to drive around or run the engine--this saves both time and energy.
  2. Built for Constant Use

  3. Deep cycle lead RV batteries are built to provide almost constant power. Longer lasting than regular car batteries, which would sustain damage if they were used in a similar fashion to RV batteries, an RV battery is made for heavy duty performance and durability. Minimal maintenance and the RV battery should last for years. Understand that 12v wiring is usually pre-installed in all RVs in order to safely run a number of small appliances. A pre-installed wiring harness is connected to the RV battery for immediate power at the fingertips. Running only two or three small appliances at a time is recommended to ensure maximum wattage to any particular appliance that is in use.
  4. RV Battery Benefits

  5. Camping enthusiasts in even the most remote areas of the world are afforded the creature comforts they have become accustomed to at home, via his self-contained temporary home on wheels, making the transition from home to RV smooth and easy without missing a thing.
  6. Considerations

  7. When handling any battery, caution must be taken to prevent accidental acid burns occurring on the skin. Battery acid is highly corrosive and cannot differentiate between skin and clothes. In case of skin contact, wash the affected area with warm water and soap or vinegar if it's handy. Keep batteries away from the body when carrying them from place to place, to prevent battery acid holes from ruining clothes.
