  1. What Is Ergonomic?

    • Ergonomic design is based on creating an object to fit the user. When referring to a chair, ergonomic means that the chair can be adjusted to fit the user's body shape. This helps avoid injuries, such as carpal tunnel, and prevents joint and muscle fatigue.

    Arms and Wrists

    • A traditional chair usually has stationary arms. An ergonomic chair has arms that can be adjusted in height so that the arms and wrists can comfortably rest on them without strain.

    Back

    • Unlike a traditional chair, an ergonomic chair typically has adjustable lower lumbar support. When adjusted, the lumbar support creates a hump in the lower part of the chair that curves into the arch of the back, giving it the support it needs.

    Legs

    • An ergonomic chair also has the ability to raise and lower so that the legs of the user are parallel to the floor and the feet are flat. This is the best way to sit to avoid problems that comes from prolonged sitting.
