The astrologist offers quick readings to the attendees and may offer guidance based on people's horoscope and the current position of the planets. Not all astrologists are comfortable with acting as entertainment for a gathering, but will instead choose speaking engagements that are focused more on a credible approach to astrology. For example, an astrologist may charge a lump sum to attend a convention and speak about astrology to a large crowd of eager listeners. Famed astrologists who speak on national talk shows may not earn money for appearances on the show, but can then turn around and charge a great deal of money for other speaking engagements and appearances.
