- A golfer with the Professional Golfers' Association, otherwise known as the PGA, spends a lot of time golfing. Whether practicing putting on the green, driving at the driving range or playing a round or two on the course, golf is a major part of his day. Since it is his career, he has to practice constantly.
- Golf isn't the only physical activity golfers have to do. Physical fitness is important to a golfer's game. Weight lifting and cardiovascular exercise are common activities for PGA professionals. Medical appointments verify physical fitness and health. When injuries occur, sports doctor and physical therapist appointments treat the problems.
- A PGA professional meets with several different entities related to his job. It is common for a PGA professional to meet with endorsement companies to discuss contracts, promotions and advertisements, as well as image and appearances. Professional organization meetings and PGA sponsored meetings require attendance from PGA professionals. A golfer also meets with his manager, agent and lawyer as necessary to ensure his career is on the right track and there are no issues to get him sidetracked.
- Some PGA professionals have the opportunity to make extra money in endorsement deals with outside companies. These companies vary from automobile businesses to sporting equipment manufacturers, and everything in between. The PGA professionals who get contracts to promote these products do so in a variety of mediums. From television advertisements, magazine photos and even radio promotions, these professionals work with the necessary individuals to complete the advertisement. Photo shoots, commercial video productions and recording studios are places where advertisements come together.
- In endorsement contracts, often PGA professionals sign on to promote merchandise by doing public appearances. The professional shows up at a prearranged place, such as a retail store, and signs autographs, takes pictures and promotes the products for a specific amount of time. Sometimes the professional helps kick off events, such as kids golf tournaments.
- This, of course, is the PGA professional's job. Golfers compete in tournaments in a variety of venues, even in different countries, to win the top spot in golf. Performance in tournaments decides the best of the best in golf. Good performance in tournaments leads to endorsement deals and contracts. Consecutive poor performances can lose contracts and deals for PGA professionals.
- Many PGA professionals are involved with a variety of charities. From public appearances at charity events to playing in charity-sponsored tournaments, the professional supports the cause.

on 10/30/2009 I am a PGA professional, and this doesn't even come close to describing what a PGA's workday is like. And the listed resource, the PGA of America, does not have any information that backs up this article. Are these things even edited????
