    Stretching and Preparing the Body

  1. Preparing for a climb requires a fit and ready body, as for any climbing is very demanding and stressing. A climber feel physically ready through stretching techniques and some basic slow breathing exercises can. If one wants to take the most preparation before a climb, one should look into an exercise program, which can build on leg and arm strength.
  2. Preparing Mentally

  3. While it may not seem that climbing would require a mental test, the entire climb indeed takes a strong, healthy mind. Preparing mentally can be accomplished through talking yourself through your climb, such as what foot and hand placement to make next.
  4. Practice the Climb on a Climbing Wall

  5. Climbing on a wall is a safer way to practice before the actual climb. Climbing walls are simply a replication of an actual mountain climb. However, instead of rock, the wall is made of plastic, foam and rubber. This is by far the best way to prepare for a climb, for you then learn the best methods of climbing your way to the top.
