    What's In There?

  1. Multi-vitamins for thinning hair contain many combinations of vitamins, minerals and herbs, but the combinations usually center on Vitamins C, E, B3 (niacin), B5 (pantothenic acid) and B6 (pyridoxine). They will not resolve all reasons you are losing your hair. Please see your doctor to diagnoses why you are losing your hair and if vitamins will help. No vitamins for thinning hair are cures for baldness.
  2. The Three Bs

  3. When hair follicles don't get enough nutrition from the body, they die and fall out. The three Bs help keep up the body's circulation, even through the tiny blood vessels in the scalp. They also help for overall health in your body. B vitamins are great at helping you hold on to the hair you still have left, too. B6 in particular helps the body make melanin, the chemical that gives hair follicles their color.
  4. Vitamins E and C

  5. Vitamin C helps your body's circulatory and immunity functions. When your body is sick, it will often shut down, sending nutrients to the hair in order to concentrate on fighting the illness. C helps your body work more efficiently with what resources it has. Vitamin E helps keep your skin conditioned--including your scalp. It helps your body take in more oxygen, which helps it become more energized. Despite some Internet rumors, Vitamin E will not regrow lost hair.
  6. How Long Do I Wait?

  7. Vitamins need at least two months in order to work on your body. You don't want to take high doses, as that will make you sick. When you're sick, you will lose more hair.
