    1. About Sea World

      • Sea World has been around since 1964 and is a place where the public can interact with sea animals, from sharks and whales to penguins and stingrays. Sea World gets its animals in a few ways.

Where do They Get Their Animals?

      • One resource is in its own breeding facilities. With over 20,000 animals that have been bred, vast portions of their animals are born right at the park. In addition to their breeding facilities, Sea World is also able to get permits from the government that allows them to rescue animals in need. Many wild animals need their health clinics such as orphans, animals caught in nets and animals that are ill. They rehabilitate and release the animals if the animals can then make it on their own. Sea World also has personal breeders and other zoos from which they receive animals. These animals are given to Sea World under certain conditions such as a temporary home or a trade with another zoological center.

A Variety of Animals at Sea World

      • In all of the Sea World parks combined there are killer whales, dolphins, stingrays, seals, sea lions, walruses, penguins, sea turtles and various fish species such as sharks. Sea World also conducts zoological research to better the lives of sea animals. Not only are they a park for tourists to enjoy, they also better the living conditions of sea creatures through research and developmental studies.
