- Wii Tennis is part of the Wii Sports game that comes packaged with the purchase of a new Nintendo Wii in the United States. To play the game you need to use the included Wii Remote that comes with the system, but you do not need the added Nunchuk to play the game. To start the game you need to choose the Mii that you want to use. All Wii Tennis games are played as double games, so the system will automatically duplicate your player, and there will be two of them playing on the court. Choose whether you want to play a single game, best out of 3 or best of 5.
- Press the "A" button on the Wii Remote to start the serve. Your team will always serve first in Wii tennis. Once you press the "A" button, the ball will go up into the air. Swing the control down like you would with a tennis racket to hit the ball. Your two Mii characters will move on their own and alls you have to do is swing.
- When you swing, both of your Mii characters will swing at the same time. There is no delay in the swing, so if you swing fast twice in a row, your Mii characters will swing twice fast as well. The Wii Remote uses the sensor to send the movements to the Wii sensor bar and directly into the system instantly.
- Timing is everything in Wii Tennis. If you wait a little longer, you can create a faster swing as the ball reaches its second bounce. If you swing early enough, the ball will fly to the other side of the court. Switch the Wii Remote to the opposite hands for backswings and try to use your front player as often as possible for quick spikes.
- Win matches to build up your Wii Pro Status. As you defeat opponents and gain points towards the pro status, your challenges will become tougher and opponents will have higher skill levels.
