    Holding the Tree

  1. Place the Christmas tree stand on a clean, flat surface. Lift the Christmas tree. Slip the trunk of the tree into the large, round hole located in the center of the Christmas tree stand.
  2. Bracing the Tree

  3. Hold the tree in an upright position. Ask a friend or family member for assistance. Twist the long screws on the Christmas tree stand. Turn clockwise to tighten. Continue to twist the screws until they hold the tree in place. These screws brace the tree in place and prevent it from falling down.
  4. Watering the Tree

  5. Fill the Christmas tree stand with water. The water keeps the tree from drying out, and an aspirin can be placed in the water to aid in preserving the live Christmas tree. Water levels should be checked daily. As water evaporates, it should be replaced immediately.
