- A woman is capable of achieving more than one type of orgasm. In fact, because of the female anatomy, a woman can have three different types of orgasms. It is also possible for women to have multiple orgasms throughout the course of one sexual episode. A woman can achieve a clitoral orgasm, which involves only the external clitoris, a vaginal orgasm, which occurs inside of the vagina, or an orgasm that consists of both the clitoris and vagina, simultaneously. The three types of orgasms are achieved through different types of physical stimulation. Clitoral orgasms can be achieved through external stimulation, vaginal orgasms occur from internal stimulation, while an orgasm of the clitoris and vagina can occur through both types of stimulation at the same time.
- Males and females differ significantly in the type of stimulation necessary to achieve an orgasm. Typically, males can become sexually aroused visually, or through images that depict an attractive sex partner or desirable part of the body. Females often require more complex and multidimensional stimulation to become aroused, which is important because arousal is the first necessity for achieving an orgasm. A woman will typically require direct physical contact in combination with the right mindset in order to achieve an orgasm.
- Due to the more complex nature of a female orgasm, mindset is an important factor that can often determine whether or not a woman will achieve an orgasm. There are things a partner can do to help, such as creating the right setting; however, there are also things the woman can do to help herself achieve the right mindset. It is important to be able to relax and be comfortable being in the moment. When annoyed, irritated, stressed out, or distracted it will be nearly impossible to become aroused and enjoy stimulation. Sometimes it can help to relax prior to entering into a situation where you would like to achieve an orgasm.
