The tree stand in use
-
A person stands on the platform of the climbing tree stand. This is the bottom portion of the tree stand. The tree stand is then lifted into the air and attached to a tree's trunk. The person climbing the tree ensures that the climber/ ladder is supporting their full weight before proceeding. When absolutely sure that the climber is supporting the weight of the person on the tree stand, the person will then lift the bottom of the platform upward along the trunk of the tree, and then re-attach the tree stand to the tree.
Securing the tree stand
-
The climbing tree stand is secured by leveling knobs along the sides of the climber. The knobs are located on both sides of the climber seat and the footing of the platform. The top knobs are adjusted by hand and tightened securely. The bottom portion is turned into position by using the foot of the person's climbing/ hunting boots.
How the tree stand works for hunting
-
One type of tree stand lets the operator sit in the climber. The operator can raise the platform while facing the tree. Tree stands may include open or closed cage fronts. Gunmen prefer to use the closed style. Those hunting with crossbow or bow and arrow will prefer the open style tree stand.
