Togas are perhaps best known for being a garment of ancient Rome. However, in recent times, the toga is known as a popular costume for frat house parties. Creating a toga can be an easy process and can be made from a simple white bed sheet. First, an end of the sheet is wrapped around one shoulder. The rest of the sheet goes behind you and under your other arm. Then you simply bring it around to the front and throw the other end of the sheet over the shoulder where you started.

There are many methods you can use to make a toga stay on. One way is to tie the corners of the sheet together over your shoulder. This will create a very loose toga that should be worn over other clothes. Another method is to use two sheets and tie them together behind the back of the head. Ladies may prefer to use safety pins to attach parts of the toga in order to make the toga more stylish and to assure that the toga will stay in place.
If you have the time to create a more involved toga, velcro can be carefully placed on the edges of the toga to make it stay in place. -
Some enjoy embellishing their togas with accessories. Colored sashes can be worn over the shoulder to give the toga an extra layer. Sashes can be made of almost any material and can help the toga to stay in place. Others like to wear sashes around the waist. The waist sashes are especially helpful in keeping the toga in place.
Togas should be worn with sandals or with no shoes at all. Jewelry should be kept to a minimum, but wreaths of leaves or flowers around the head are acceptable.
