How Does a Relationship Get to the Next Level?
-
General Overview
-
A relationship is any personal contact between two people, and it can come in many forms. Most relationships are classified as family, platonic or romantic. A family relationship is the personal connection between members of a family. A platonic relationship is usually one between friends, colleagues or business partners in which no romantic or sexual feelings are involved. A romantic relationship usually involves intimacy, physical attraction and romance between two partners. Due to the level of intimacy, romantic relationships can be quite complicated.
Getting to the Next Level
-
Getting to the next level in a relationship can have different meanings depending on the couple and the type of relationship that they have. For example, if two people start out as friends or colleagues and want to become more romantically involved, they will be taking their relationship to the next level. On the other hand, a couple that has been romantically involved for some time will take their relationship to the next level by moving in together or getting married. The process will generally be different for every relationship. Most of the time a relationship moves on to the next level when both partners decide that it is time for them to take that step. At this point, they discuss the matter privately and reach an agreement together.

Other Factors
-
Sometimes outside forces can also drive a relationship to get to the next level quicker. Pressure from family, friends and others can speed up the seriousness of a relationship and influence a couple to take the next step earlier than planned. In some cultures, parents orchestrate their children's relationships and even marriages. In such instances, the relationship gets to the next level by the meddling of outside forces, and the couple often has very little say in the advancement of their relationship.
