Oral sex on a woman, also known as cunnilingus, involves the use of the tongue and mouth on a woman's genital region. It can be practiced as part of foreplay and/or during sex. Whether by homosexuals or heterosexuals, oral sex is a wonderful way to enhance your sex life. When both partners are giving and receiving oral sex at the same time, it is called the 69 position.
Though preferences vary, most women enjoy direct stimulation on or around the clitoris. The clitoris, often called the female penis, is packed with nerve endings, and when stimulated with either the lips or tongue can bring a woman to intense orgasm. -
Even though oral sex cannot cause pregnancy, it can spread sexually transmitted diseases. Chlamydia, herpes, HPV and HIV can all be spread through oral sex. If one or both partners have open sores on the mouth or genitals, the risk of spreading an STD is even greater.
It is important to be honest with your partner about any STDs you may have and when your last STD test was. If you are sexually active, you should be tested for STDs at least once every six months. -
While most women enjoy direct clitoral stimulation, everyone is different. Start out by stroking or kissing the area around the clitoris, putting little pressure on the clitoris itself. Communicate with your partner to find out exactly what she likes. After a generous amount of gentle pressure around the area, most women like attention paid directly to the clitoris either by lips or tongue.
While the temptation exists to just start out at full speed, it is often preferable to begin slowly with light pressure and work your way up to more pressure and a quicker speed.
While performing oral sex on a woman, use the hands as well as the mouth. All women like to be touched, and using your hands to stroke the breasts will usually be very pleasurable. Some women especially like to have fingers inserted into the vagina during oral sex, as this stimulates the clitoris and the vagina at the same time.
