Maggie25 on How to Exfoliate Your Face

are rubbed deeply into the facial skin.
I try to exfoliate at least three times a week to keep my skin looking and feeling clean and clear. I like to use St. Ive’s Exfoliating Scrub for Blackheads and Blemishes, which only costs about $2, and is available at most drugstores. First, I dampen my face to make my skin more susceptible to the scrub. Wetting the face with warm water also opens up pores, making it easier to exfoliate all of the dirt, oil and dead skin cells.
Then, I apply a quarter-sized amount of the scrub into my palms and use my fingers to rub the exfoliant deeply into my face in a circular motion. Using a circular motion helps to cover more surface area and target as many blackheads as possible. I don’t use loofahs or exfoliating gloves because they can be a little too harsh on my sensitive skin.
Once I’ve applied the scrub all over my face and rubbed it in, I leave it on for about a minute before rinsing it off with lukewarm water. After all the scrub residue has been rinsed off, I pat my face dry with a clean, terry-cloth towel.
Finally, I apply an oil-free moisturizer to prevent my freshly scrubbed face from overdrying.
