I think that my first word was "horse." By the age of five, my father gave in and I became the proud owner of an old, flea bitten gelding. My mother added the fuel that stoked the fire, however, when she took me to the Pin Oak Charity Horse Show. I was enchanted by all the horses but dreamed of jumping.
