Regensburg is a historic Bavarian city in Germany. The old city remained largely intact after allied bombing during World War II and still retains more than 1,300 medieval buildings. The University in Regensburg was built in 1965 and is home to over 20,000 students. The city offers excellent student nightlife and great food and is only an hour's drive to the major cities of Munich, Nuremburg, and Rothenburg.
Essen, Germany, offers a variety of tourist attractions such as art and scientific museums, historic buildings, shopping centers, botanic gardens, a zoo and displayed sculptures. A good time to visit Essen is between April and May or September and October when peak season is over and flights are cheaper.
