Wet Dry Vac Safety
The wet dry vacuum, or wet dry vac as it is commonly called, is an engineering marvel, conveniently able to slurp up dry or liquid debris. As with any powerful electric appliance, the wet dry vac performs best, and provides adequate and safe operation, when used according to manufacturer safety instructions. Does this Spark an idea?
-
Connection
-
To avoid electrical shock, plug the wet dry vac into a grounded receptacle or grounded adapter. The filter should be intact; replace torn filters. Never operate the wet dry vac if the motor housing is immersed in water, nor operate the machine in the rain, nor handle with wet hands.
Operation
-
The wet dry vac is suited for vacuuming innocuous debris, such as dust, plaster and sawdust. Never vacuum flammable, toxic, smoldering, burning or explosive materials such as natural gas, hot ashes, smoldering matches, solvents or gasoline, as these materials may vaporize into hazardous fumes or catch fire. Sharp objects may pierce the plastic hose or damage the filter.

Servicing
-
Most manufacturers offer at least a one-year warranty on new wet dry vacs, and prefer to have the appliance serviced through an authorized service center. Before servicing the machine yourself, always unplug the unit from the power source.
