Tool Box Motor Pool Help

Motor pools help military equipment stay in good working order.

Military units are sent to remote regions of the world where they must build motor pools. Motor pool facilities must have highly organized tool boxes for the efficient repair of machinery and equipment.

  1. Identification

    • A motor pool is a repair facility built for military troops stationed outside their home base. Military machines, from weapons to tanks, require immediate repairs when damaged in warfare. The motor pool facility holds all the tools necessary for proper repair procedures.

    Prevention/Solution

    • One motor pool room should contain all the mechanics' work attire and tool boxes. The main repair shop resides beside the tool room. If a tool box must be stored inside the repair shop from lack of space, push the box up against a wall to prevent tripping hazards.

    Considerations

    • Take an inventory of all tools each quarter for controlling overall tool loss within the motor pool facility. Return a tool to the same tool box it came from to avoid inventory confusion. If possible, label each tool with an inventory number for tracking purposes.
