How to Install Sirius Satellite Radio in a 2004 Mustang GT

Sirius satellite radio offers a new method for receiving car radio audio signals. A driver does not depend on a local radio frequency, but harnesses a satellite signal. A Sirius system easily installs within a 2004 Mustang GT.

Function

A Sirius satellite radio uses satellite signals to produce audio within a car. A user tunes the satellite radio to a specific channel and the corresponding signal plays through the car's speakers. A 2004 Mustang GT is a Ford vehicle that offers the option of a dealer-installed Sirius system.

Installation

The driver may attach the compact, lightweight Sirius tuner to the dashboard, air vent, or the interior windshield. Connect the tuner to a power source, such as the vehicle's cigarette lighter socket, with the tuner's supplied adapter wire. Use the tuner's FM extender to allow audio to move from the tuner module to the car's stock radio speakers. Mount the FM extender to the windshield with the supplied suction cup.

Considerations

The external Sirius antenna attaches to the roof, either above the windshield or rear window, with a magnetic mount. The antenna must be at least 3-inches away from the window's edge for both locations.
