ESAB Welder Board Repair
Welders use electrical current arcs to create strong metal connections. A welder's power source employs a printed circuit board, or PCB, as part of its design. These boards may require repair or replacement.
-
Identification
-
A PCB houses multiple electrical traces, or tracks, connected to electronic components. The board directs the incoming electricity, such as from an electrical outlet, into usable current for powering a connected welding rod.
Effects
-
Welder boards fail for a variety of reasons; replacement of the ESAB welder board is necessary, as opposed to a board repair. Modern electronic components are too small for proper removal and replacement by the human hand.
-
Warning
-
ESAB Group advises that if a customer, or unauthorized repair facility, alters or repairs a welder board, the warranty on the board is invalid. ESAB recommends contacting a local supplier for an authorized board replacement.
