Magna Trak 100 Problems
Before construction begins on a job site, the area must be surveyed for any objects that may affect construction. A Magna Trak 100 is a detection device used to find site obstructions. Although the device is quite reliable, some problems may affect its performance.

Identification
-
A Magna Trak 100 is a magnetic locator, built specifically for surveying and construction. The device easily detects a buried pipe or rebar rod, allowing workers the chance to dig up any unwanted items from a potential construction site.
Considerations
-
Many times, Magna Trak 100 problems are due to a simple issue, such as a low battery. Intermittent locating and low volume are symptoms of a low battery. Additionally, the locator should be held at a 45-degree angle from the ground to allow the generated signal to bounce off the target.
-
Warning
-
Though the length of the locator is waterproof, the display casing is only water resistant. If the unit is completely submerged in water, it is possible to short the circuitry board in the casing. Typically, replacement of the board is necessary when the device is affected by water damage.
