C Band Satellite Dish Removal

Large, C-Band satellite dishes can be removed.

For homeowners who have some open land, a large satellite dish, like the C-Band type, is an appealing addition. If the homeowner decides to remove the dish after a period of time, there are proper methods.

Identification

A typical C-Band satellite dish is six feet in diameter and is mounted on a pole. The programming available can provide as much as 1,000 channels for a household's viewing pleasure.

Features

Removal is essentially following the installation steps in reverse order. To prevent damage to the dish itself, remove the dish and attached accessories from the pole by utilizing a ladder, or even a powered lift. Afterward, the pole should be the only portion left to remove.

Considerations

The pole may have been mounted in dirt or in concrete. If it is mounted in dirt, using a shovel or powered digger machine will suffice to remove the pole. But, if it is mounted in concrete, a concrete cutter or jackhammer will be needed to free the pole.
