WFC Cannot Connect to a Room
The Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection is used by Nintendo game systems owners to wirelessly connect to and browse the internet, download and play online games. The Nintendo Wii and DS game systems are Wi-Fi compatible.
-
Test
-
Nintendo's Wi-Fi-compatible gaming systems are equipped with a connection test system allowing users to detect a wireless home network to connect to WFC. If a Connection Unsuccessful message is received when the test is completed, a connection cannot be established.
Firewall
-
When a connection to Nintendo's WFC connection cannot be established and an error code between 50000 and 59999 is received, the problem is commonly with the wireless router. Routers often have a built-in firewall that blocks certain traffic from entering or leaving the home network, the security settings of the router must be changed to establish a connection.
-
Security
-
Where connection problems are encountered connecting to the WFC network, the security settings of a home network may not be supported by Nintendo WFC. Where a message box containing the network name with a locked padlock icon is visible, the network security settings must be altered to allow the connection to be completed.
