Chlorophyll is a natural substance from plants that gives plants and leaves their green color. It also is involved with photosynthesis. Chlorophyll is rich in vitamins and nutrients, and it's often used in alternative medicine to treat sinus infections.

  1. Water or Oil-soluble

    • Chlorophyll can come in two forms, oil-soluble or water-soluble. Water-soluble chlorophyll is diluted with distilled water.

    Application

    • For sinus problems, dilute a small amount of chlorophyll with an equal amount of water. Diluting the chlorophyll helps prevent stinging. The solution should then be transferred into an eyedropper. For oil-soluble chlorophyll, use some type of natural oil to dilute it. No more than one or two drops should be placed directly into each nostril.

    Health Benefits

    • Chlorophyll may stimulate red blood cells. The Nutritional Supplements Health Guide states that it is used to treat wounds and infections, including sinus infections.
