What Is a Nonshredding Corrugated Box?

Corrugated cardboard boxes have lots of uses.

Corrugated boxes are used in a number of residential and commercial applications. They're used to package and ship a variety of items with minimal soiling or breakage. The air pockets built within the layers of the boxes result in a product significantly stronger than regular cardboard boxes.

Manufacturing

Regardless of their required specifications, all corrugated boxes originate from a single roll of liner or paperboard.These rolls may weigh more than 2 tons each and can consist of up to 3 layers of flutes and liners.

Components

A corrugated box consists of three components: the corrugated medium, the flutes and the liners. The corrugated medium is the wavy paper found inside the corrugated board, and the flutes are the ridges formed on the wavy paper. The liners are the flat sheets located on the outside of each layer. The expected use and required strength of the box determines the number of each component used in the manufacturing process.

Nonshredding Boxes

Nonshredding boxes are made of the strongest cardboard material available, and the strength of each particular box is measured by its number of layers. Items packed in nonshredding boxes are guaranteed to not incur any damage, because it's nearly impossible to break down or destroy this type of box with ordinary cutting tools.These boxes are manufactured and sold wherever residential and commercial packaging materials are available.
