Steam-cleaning machines and steam irons will remove furniture dents from carpet. Try using a steam iron first, because it's smaller, and easier to handle. If that fails to work, then move to the steam cleaner.
Usage

Hold the steamer several inches from the surface of the carpet and lightly mist until the carpet is saturated. While the carpet is still wet, rub a stiff scrub brush over the surface, pushing the carpet fibers back up. You can also scrub the carpet while aiming the steamer at the floor.

A broom or comb will also work to push the carpet fibers up and remove the furniture dents. Rub it across the carpet while wetting the carpet or after the carpet is wet.
