Specifications of the Pioneer Audio System in a 2006 Scion tC

The Scion tC, a compact three-door liftback, was introduced in 2005. Edmunds.com contends that the 2006 tC is "high quality" and contains numerous "unexpected goodies," including its 160-watt XM radio-ready Pioneer audio system.

Basic Operation

The tC's Pioneer system includes an AM/FM radio and CD player. Aside from regular CDs, the tC can play MP3 and WMA discs. The Pioneer audio system is also XM satellite radio-ready. If you wish to listen to XM radio, you can subscribe via phone or online.

iPod Connectivity

The tC is equipped with a unique iPod dock connector port, which allows you to listen to your iPod through the radio. Once connected, press the AUX button until the source says "iPod." Once in sync, you can select songs using the radio's controls.

Steering Controls

The tC is also equipped with steering control options that let you operate the radio without removing your hands from the wheel. The steering wheel contains volume options, mode selection and track selection.
