ISO Standards for Tissue Culture
The Swiss-based International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has produced a set of standards governing the use of tissue culture and other microbiological materials.

The ISO is a leading provider of voluntary consensus standards applicable to a wide range of industries. As of March 2011, the ISO has institutes in 160 countries that work together to develop industry standards that meet business needs as well as the broader needs of global society.
Standard

ISO has one standard governing the treatment of tissue culture. This standard is entitled ISO 24998:2008 -- Plastics Laboratory Ware -- Single-Use Petri Dishes for Microbiological procedures. It specifies proper requirements and test methods for single-use petri dishes. As of March 2011, this standard is available through the ISO website for SFR74 (about US$$77)

Exclusions

This standard does not apply to similar products used for cell or tissue culture purposes. It also does not apply to dishes preloaded with microbiological materials.
