Aerotech First Fire igniters are used for model rockets.

Model rocketry is an explosive hobby that teaches patience, physics and attention to detail. Aerotech First Fire igniters provide the initial spark that propels an enthusiast's rocket into the sky.

  1. Composition

    • The Aerotech First Fire igniter is made of a pyrogen mixture that operates at a high temperature to light a rocket's motor. The igniter wire is 24 inches long.

    Lead Design

    • Aerotech First Fire igniters separate into two leads, in order to insert the starter into motors that utilize composite propellants. The leads for these igniters are designed to give enthusiasts sufficient length to connect the motor easily using standard microclips.

    Operation

    • First Fire igniters are appropriate for use with rocket motors that are class H and higher. To function, the igniters require 12 volts with at least 3 amps. They can replace the Copperhead igniters that are included with certain Aerotech motors.
