Explanation of HHO Neutral Plates

More cars than ever before are using alternative fuels, such as oxyhydrogen (HHO) generators. One lesser-known part of the HHO generator is the neutral plate. Ensure you know how the generator keeps from overheating by understanding the purpose of the neutral plate.

HHO Generator Basics

An HHO generator uses water to create electricity. It does this by splitting the water into hydrogen and oxygen. This splitting charges the generator. The generator then reacts like a wet battery and to hold a charge.

Neutral Plates Basics

A car battery produces 12 volts of electricity while an alternator produces 14 volts. However, the process to run the HHO generator only requires about 2 volts. The neutral plate or plates drop the voltage, thereby creating less heat and a more efficient system.

How Common Are Neutral Plates?

Neutral plates are part of the public domain. Any company can use the design without fear of legal action. Most, if not all, HHO generators use neutral plates.
