WildBlue Communications requires a properly configured proprietary modem.

WildBlue Communications Inc. is a satellite Internet provider that requires the use of a proprietary modem supplied by the company. Several issues can affect your WildBlue Communications modem's performance.

  1. Modem Description

    • The WildBlue Communications modem is a high-speed satellite receiver and transmitter that is installed and supplied by the company. The modem receives and transmits data to the satellite dish that, in turn, relays it to a satellite. The modem is covered by a limited WildBlue warranty.

    Troubleshooting

    • If you experience any problem with your WildBlue Communications modem, you should check that both the "Receive" and "LAN" light-emitting diodes, or LEDs, on the modem are on. The "Transmit" LED should also flash when you send Internet data, such as when you try to access a website. Ensure that all cables at the back of the modem as well as the Ethernet cable at the back of your PC are firmly plugged in.

    Solutions

    • If you still experience Internet connectivity issues, you should first try to reset the WildBlue Communications modem by removing the power supply cable at the back of the device. Wait 1 minute before plugging it back in and turning the modem on again. If this solution doesn't solve your problem, your modem may be defective, and you should therefore contact the WildBlue Communications help desk.
