Steps to Negotiation Protocol

Negotiation protocol determines the flow of information between negotiating parties. It also dictates who can say what and when they can say it. It also provides the rules by which negotiating parties must abide or the negotiating will be stopped by the system.

  1. Support

    • The negotiation protocol should first be designed to recognize and standardize communication between participants. At this phase it should recognize and administer phases of the negotiation process including admission, proposal submission and agreement formation.

    Develop Rules

    • Rules should be employed within the negotiation protocol that help to decide the furtherance of the negotiation. These rules should help to clarify and guide participants through the negotiations.

    Language to Define Rules

    • A language should be employed that assist in the standardization of negotiations. This should be used to clarify protocol for participants.

    Language to Express Negotiations

    • A language should be developed that works within the protocol to provide definite values and specifications for proposals. This language should be able to support complex queries and matching throughout the negotiations.
