The Rollover Safety of a CX7
The Mazda CX-7 is a midsized crossover SUV produced since 2007 and still in production as of March 2011. The latest model to receive full crash testing is the 2010 CX-7.

Rollover Safety
-
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is the organization tasked with determining various safety standards and testing them in different vehicles. In its rollover crash test, the NHTSA rated the 2010 CX-7 with four stars. Five stars is its highest rating, indicating the vehicles with the most rollover safety. According to US Auto Injury Law website, a four-star rating indicates a vehicle is 10 percent to 20 percent likely to rollover in a single-vehicle accident.
Roof Strength
-
The roof strength is also an important determinant of rollover safety. If a vehicle has a strong roof, it's more likely to protect those inside if a rollover actually occurs. Unfortunately, The Car Connection vehicle-review website warns that the 2010 Mazda CX-7 received a "marginal" rating for roof strength, with ratings in order from poor, marginal, average and good.

2011 Model
-
While precise NHTSA testing data is unavailable as of March 2010, Edmunds notes that the 2011 features "sharper handling," which may help decrease the chance of a rollover. The roof still has a "marginal" strength rating.
